Alexandria Institute organizes an Ancient Greek language course at basic, intermediate and advanced levels on one of the most popular Cyclades islands, Paros, in July. Students can opt for a two-week, three-week or four-week course, acquiring first-hand contact with the Ancient Greek language.
Our Institute aims to provide you with a thorough educational experience given that courses are supplemented with visits to archaeological sites and museums and students also get to know the local customs. Every scheduled activity is aimed at familiarizing students with the island’s cuisine, architecture and heritage as well as helping them experience its authentic spirit.
Learn more about our teaching methodology and our approach here.
Greece is the birthplace of Ancient Greek civilization, philosophy, and literature. Studying Ancient Greek in its place of origin allows for a deeper connection to the cultural and historical context.
More over, living and studying on the island of Paros provides an opportunity for cultural immersion. You can experience daily life in a Greek community, interact with locals, and participate in cultural events, enhancing your overall learning experience.
In addition, Paros, known for its picturesque landscapes and historical sites, can serve as an inspiring backdrop for studying Ancient Greek. The beauty of the surroundings can contribute to a positive and motivating learning environment.
Greece, and Paros specifically, may offer unique resources for studying Ancient Greek, such as local museums and archaeological sites. These resources can provide a hands-on approach to learning and understanding the language in its historical context.
Studying on location may give you access to expert instructors with a deep understanding of Ancient Greek language and culture. Learning from professionals who are immersed in the local environment can enhance the quality of your education.
In case attendance is greater than expected, further excursions and tour guides may be added. The original itinerary may have to be modified in response to unexpected weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. A minimum attendance of three students is required for our cultural course to take place.
