What is the smell of Greece?

All the countries smell like something! Every country has its own smells, the ones that come out from the houses, the markets, the bars… The ones that somebody could smell when wandering around.

And Greece, what does it smell like?

It smells oregano and basil. Feta. Fruits from the street markets. Food and wine, from the small taverns. It smells greek coffee. If you have a walk near the beach, it smells like sea, fish and ouzo. It smells fresh bread. It smells ciannamon.

When you wander around in a country, you “take a smell” of the way that people live.

What your country smells like?
